Spiritual Awakening Initiative
Waking Up Ottumwa with the Word of God
"Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night..." — Joshua 1:8
Too many people are spiritually asleep. The Spiritual Awakening Initiative, a ministry initiative of JVG Revelation Church Word, exists to wake them up with the Word of God — one verse a day, kept in the heart through daily meditation.
🚀 The Ottumwa Pilot Launches November 2, 2026!
Before growing across Iowa, Spiritual Awakening starts here at home: a four-week pilot in Ottumwa and Wapello County, November 2–29, 2026. Registrations are now open — joining is free.
How it works
📱 Every day, you receive a short Bible verse by text message, with a beautiful verse card to read, meditate on, and share.
✋ Twice a week, an interactive page opens: tap "Amen" to confirm your reading and play a short memorization quiz.
🏆 Every week, champions are crowned and receive gifts that carry the Word further: a Bible, a T-shirt printed with the verse, and an awareness bracelet. Two categories: Adults and Youth — children take part at home, together with their parents.
The four weeks
- Week 1 — God's Promises (Nov 2–8)
- Week 2 — Faith (Nov 9–15)
- Week 3 — Prayer (Nov 16–22)
- Week 4 — Gratitude (Nov 23–29, Thanksgiving week)
Closing celebration — Sunday, November 29, 2026: the Pilot's Grand Champions are crowned, as we give thanks together for four weeks in the Word.
✍️ Join the Pilot
Registration is open now through November 1:
- Text or call: 641-215-0011
- Email: admin@jvgrevelationchurchw.org
- Or sign up in person at JVG Revelation Church Word.
Our goal: 100 participants across Wapello County. Be one of them — and invite a friend.
🤝 Churches, Schools & Businesses
- Churches: adopt the initiative for your congregation and share the daily verses with your members.
- Schools & family organizations: simply relay the invitation to parents (children participate at home, with their parents; all materials available for review in advance).
- Businesses & sponsors: help provide the Bibles, T-shirts, and bracelets our champions receive. Contact us to become a pilot partner.
A proclamation recognizing the pilot has been requested from the City of Ottumwa, and partner letters of support will be gathered throughout the pilot — local proof that will carry this initiative to the State of Iowa and beyond.
